Deputy Leader of Wellingborough Council lies about effect of cuts on front line services

The Deputy Leader of Wellingborough Council, Councillor Paul Bell) has gone on record to say that cuts at Wellingborough Council will not affect front line services. Today I have received a briefing note (sent to all Councillors) about the effect of cuts in just one area: the Property and Facilities Services section. The note from the Corporate Director of Resouces, Richard Micklewright, says:

"As members will be aware, significant changes have taken and continue to take place in the Property and Facilities Service as a result of restructuring and the budget reduction processes. Both the Property and Facilities Managers will be leaving the employ of the Council. This will clearly have a major impact on service delivery (for council tenents)."
